Owning a boat is everyone's dream, whether it be a small runabout or a large cabin cruiser. Being able to operate that vessel safely is another skill that you should master.
Many people venture into buying or building a boat without thinking about the fundamentals of good boating.
Operating a boat safely requires skill and training.
Simply keeping your vessel on course involves a lot of knowledge, not only how the boat is affected by wind and current, but also how to easily come alongside a dock or wharf at the end of your journey.
Loading and unloading can also be quite hazardous, if not done correctly. This knowledge is essential for the safety of all passengers aboard.
During you Boat handling program you will complete three theory sessions and two hands on boating sessions over two days.

You will learn the fundamentals about boating, what to do and more importantly, what not to do!
You will also have time to go over all safety equipment that is strongly recommended to be carried by all small vessels venturing onto a lake or even the ocean.
Simple and easy methods for launching and retrieving a boat, tying up alongside and navigating within a narrow channel. Recognising hazards and understanding signage around you that is designed to protect you and other waterway users.
You will also learn how to splice ropes and tie knots, you will also receive a handbook and the information you need to sit for your own Powerboat Licence with the relevant authorities.
