Diving is such a diverse sport that attracts so many different people each year. Divers desire information in just as many different areas.
Each month we choose a specialty course that is designed to enhance your diving education and overall scuba diving fun. Below is a short excerpt of he courses offered at Pro-Dive Central coast.

The PADI Enriched Air Diver course is PADI’s most popular specialty scuba diving course, and it’s easy to see why. Scuba diving with enriched air nitrox gives you more no decompression dive time. This means more time underwater, especially on repetitive scuba dives.
Operating a boat safely requires skill and training.
Simply keeping your vessel on course involves a lot of knowledge, not only how the boat is affected by wind and current, but also how to easily come alongside a dock or wharf at the end of your journey.

The PADI Drift Diver Specialty course introduces you to the coolest magic carpet ride you’ll ever experience. This course shows you how to enjoy rivers and ocean currents by “going with the flow,” staying with your dive partner, communicating with the dive boat and knowing where you are the whole time.
We will show you how to care for your camera system, identify good photo subjects and improve the compbosition using simple principles for taking great underwater photos. You will also be introduced to advanced photo techniques. Includes all necessary equipment and maintenance procedures.

Diving dry and warm is one area all divers enjoy.
Scuba divers are the only group of people who can truly say they enjoy a three dimensional activity. Divers glide along with the ocean currents, enjoying the environment to its max.
Now is the time for you to join them in this most intriguing specialty that keeps divers enthralled for ages.

You will learn: Effective deep diving plans and proper surface supports.
How to use backup equipment and enhancing your scuba skills for deeper dives. Recognising and handling diving hazards and using all necessary specialty diving equipment

Diving on and inside sunken wrecks can be quite hazardous.
The Pro-Dive Wreck Diver Course shows you the correct procedures to safely dive in and around sunken wrecks, having a great time and enjoying your dives.
Many divers do not realise they are causing damage to our marine environment whilst, many distinct marine animals have been devastated by either pollution, over-fishing or plain ignorance.Becoming aware is something we all have to learn. The Marine Awareness course is designed to help our future generations to enjoy our wonderful marine environment in the same manner we can today.

You will learn: Setting up shore lights at night. How to hold lights to maximise visibility- Locating the boat or shore. Learn the techniques if you lose sight of your buddy. What are the procedures to follow if your light goes out, also in-depth information about necessary night diving equipment.

You will learn: Natural navigation, Compass navigation, combining natural and
compass navigation situations. We will also cover the sport of navigation using
in-depth information on the necessary dive equipment

Items lost overboard were once considered to be lost for all time.
Many searches were haphazard and fruitless resulting in lost time and equipment- Too often frustrating and dangerous.
Yet search and recovery techniques are very simple and a lot of fun, when you learn the basic skills and employ them to recover a lost object.

You will learn: The various types of dive computers available. How to use your computer to maximise bottom time & safety. We will look at using a computer for repetitive diving and getting the most from your dive vacation.

Specialty dive courses often involve just one weekend or a couple of nights a week to complete. The theory sessions are supported by DVD or video presentations and most theory sessions are held prior to the dives.
