G' Day
Here we go again- Another
fantastic summer season with plenty of hot weather, sunshine and
great days for scuba diving. The visibility has been quite good
with a great variety of marine life on offer- Seals, whales, Kingfish,
and a brief visit by a very tropical Yellow bellied sea snake.
I have organised a really awesome timetable for you to go over
with plenty of diving for you to enjoy all over the Summer season.

Getaway success
Tony and the getaway crew enjoyed great diving recently at South
West Rocks. Tony reported seeing Grey Nurse Sharks everywhere,
even in the cave itself. The visibility was around 10 metres with
a big surface current on Sunday that forced them to change plans.
This is a very busy
time for us with Open water classes booked all through the summer
season and Advanced programs. There are boat dives tabled all
over the Christmas break with night dives and shore dives all
awaiting for you to enjoy.
December Club meeting
Come along to the December meeting as we have Kristyn from Dive
Adventures as our special guest. Kristyn is our travel agent who
organises our getaways and makes certain we have a great, carefree
holiday.
With our Eco-travel year quickly approaching- Kristyn will outline
the why's and where's we will encounter on our travels around
the globe.
Explorer Xmas party
Christmas time again and the Explorer Christmas party will be
held on Saturday the 15th of December at 7 pm. You are invited
to come along and enjoy yourself with other members of your club-
Call Tina on 4389DIVE to RSVP. All you need to bring are your
own drinks.

January club night
Pizza and beer night on Wednesday January 9th at 7 pm.
Following a very successful meeting with Ken Z. as our guest speaker,
I have organised for members to view Ken's extensive collection
of antique dive helmets at the January dive club meeting.
Call Bob for
a map and directions to view an awesome collection of historical
dive gear.
Xmas sale
Aquanaut
are having a Christmas sale and we want you to be the first to
know about it.
We will have a full range of equipment in store ready for you
to try on- Like this Hot scuba kit that would be the perfect Xmas
present for the new diver. Check

Traineeship program
|
|
What
do you see
for your future?
Let me ask you a
couple of questions.
1.
Are you still working the "same old-same old"
2. Do you want to try something completely different?
3. Do you want to travel?
But need a job you can walk into fairly easily?
4. Do you like warm tropical areas, love diving in clear water?
5. What about a dive career right here in Australia?
6. What about a dive career right here on the Central Coast?
It
may not be tropical, with clear water, every day of the year.
But I'm sure paradise also has a couple of bad days...
Maybe it's about time you started to think about your career,
maybe even a seachange to somewhere else in this vast world of
ours....
Australia is not the "Be all to end all"
We are offering you the opportunity to make just that change,
loosen those ties to your usual dull job and pursue your dreams.

Many
of our previous candidates have realised their potential and are
working and living at resorts like Badarra Island, Great Keppel
Island, Heron Island, Lord Howe Island, Bali, Samoa, Indonesia,
Thailand and of course, the Great Barrier reef.
Trainees have also joined the dive industry and opened their own
dive outlets at some of the best locations, even here on the East
coast of Australia.
Don't restrict yourself to just Australia, Asia is only a plane
ride away. So are the South pacific nations. You too, have this
same opportunity starting right now!
I have tabled the new program that begins February 2007.
We can adjust the timetable below to suit your busy lifestyle,
perhaps you want to start at an earlier or even a later date-
You can also join onto the program at your level of training or
join in when you have the time.
The choices are endless.
Costs are all inclusive as course requirements.
You will certainly need all your own personal dive equipment,
which if you prefer you can purchase on No deposit 12 months interest
free options.
Look over the following schedule and give Bob a call on 4389 3483
or e-mail Traineeship
to organise a time to discuss your new future.

Professional Level training. Go
Pro !!!! |
Professional
Divemaster

Divemasters are a special breed of people, fun loving, exciting,
adventurous, empathetic to others needs and above all safety conscious.
Today's Divemaster needs all these qualities and more. Gone are
the days when just about anyone with the money and time to complete
a few programs, could hop onto the bandwagon and become a Divemaster.
Customers
today demand a lot more from diving professionals, simply not
to give assistance when you get in or out of the boat or to check
C cards!
Divemasters
need to cater for all divers needs and wants, not only in the
water or on the dive deck, even well after the dive is long over.
Divemasters
are special people!
This
rating denotes you as a person who:
Has a high level of personal diving skill.
Has instructor level knowledge of diving theory.
Has had significant training in how to assist an instructor during
training sessions.
Is able to assume responsibilities that benefit the welfare of
other divers.

In other words, you're the cream of the crop and we want you!
As you may know, many PADI Divemasters go on to become PADI Instructors.
The training and experience you gain throughout the Divemaster
program helps shape your abilities and attitude towards becoming
a professional level diving educator.
Your Pro-Dive Central Coast Divemaster program brings you to the
first level of professional diving.

X-Vision Liquidskin
mask $169.95
Colours: Blue- Black- Yellow- Silver Black- BF-
Pink- Silver Yellow- Red
Liquidskin® technology joins the most popular mask in the world
With the addition of Mares patented Liquidskin® technology, the
X-Vision now offers comfort that was formerly impossible. By co-
moulding two different types of silicone, there is no longer a
need to compromise comfort in order to support the frame structure
of a mask.
X-Vision Liquidskin® is the ideal mask for all kinds of diving,
from snorkelling to freediving to scuba, both for recreational
and professional divers.
* The section that rests on the face is made with silicone that
is 45% softer and 270% more elastic than what is typically used
by other masks
* The support structure and the area of the seals are moulded
with a silicone that is 30% harder than the traditional material
* The extremely soft silicone portion rests on the face delivering
a new level of comfort. The marks that are typically left on your
face after a dive are mostly eliminated
* The superior elasticity and softness of Liquidskin® allows the
mask to fit perfectly on a wider range of faces. Liquidskin® adapts
to facial movement and offers a great seal virtually eliminating
water leakage
* Equalisation is now much easier due to the super soft nose pocket.
Its light weight and soft adherence to the face are so gentle
that you can forget you're wearing it.

Handy hints |
|
Photo
techniques
1. Fill the frame
entirely with your subject, this will make a terrific difference
to your photos.
Why does this work?
With less clutter in the image, there's less to draw the eye away
from the main subject of your photo.
2. Use the Optical Zoom of your camera to get a close up
shot.
Why does this work?
Allows you to have a big area condensed to the subject in mind.
3. Fill the frame with your subject's FACE only - particularly
if they are smiling or are in a moment of reflection.
Why does this work?
If you can't get close enough when you're taking the shot, you
can zoom in later using photo editing software - crop out everything
except the subject's face and see what a difference it makes.
