Pro-Dive Central Coast     "Bubbles"
Anything underwater is possible at Pro-Dive February 2008

G'Day

The early morning atmosphere was awesome.
Weather sunny, seas slight with low swell, the slight wind from the East kept the low clouds around shrouding the great warship in a mist hiding a kind of mystery and allure you only get by being there....

Just as we put the boat in the water, we must have signalled a start as all vessels set out from Terrigal to greet the star attraction.

The tiny flotilla to greet the warship flitted about the huge ship. I made certain to run alongside the vessel, just the right distance away so as not to hinder the great ship.

As we motored alongside the vessel, We were taking photos, surveying the vessel and generally planning our future dives when the Adelaide returns to the coast and becomes an artificial reef.

Check out our Youtube video by Videospark of our visit.

The Laser championships are coming to Terrigal Haven in February and this will result in utter mayhem with all the little trailers clogging the boat ramp.
I will be running the dive boat from Norah Head as much as possible to get away from the chaos. Please check the ramp departure details to ascertain where we leave from.

February will become another great month for local diving, with loads of opportunities for you to jump into with both feet and descend into. I have tabled quite a few different dives, where you will see a lot of diverse marine life.
Soon the Grey Nurse sharks will return to Foggy cave. I have recently spotted two huge Nurses at Bateau reef and a small one out the back of Two poles.

                 Get out there and dive...
                                                   Yours in diving.
                                                                                   Bob

Traineeship program

What do you see
for your future?

Let me ask you a
couple of questions.

1. Are you still working the "same old-same old"
2. Do you want to try something completely different?
3.  Do you want to travel?
But need a job you can walk into fairly easily?
4. Do you like warm tropical areas, love diving in clear water?
5. What about a dive career right here in Australia?
6. What about a dive career right here on the Central Coast?

It may not be tropical, with clear water, every day of the year. But I'm sure paradise also has a couple of bad days...

Maybe it's about time you started to think about your career, maybe even a seachange to somewhere else in this vast world of ours....

Australia is not the "Be all to end all"

We are offering you the opportunity to make just that change, loosen those ties to your usual dull job and pursue your dreams.

Many of our previous candidates have realised their potential and are working and living at resorts like Badarra Island, Great Keppel Island, Heron Island, Lord Howe Island, Bali, Samoa, Indonesia, Thailand and of course, the Great Barrier reef.

Trainees have also joined the dive industry and opened their own dive outlets at some of the best locations, even here on the East coast of Australia.

Don't restrict yourself to just Australia, Asia is only a plane ride away. So are the South pacific nations.
You too, have this same opportunity starting right now!

I have tabled the new program that begins soon.
We can adjust the timetable below to suit your busy lifestyle, perhaps you want to start at an earlier or even a later date- You can also join onto the program at your level of training or join in when you have the time.

The choices are endless.

Don't be misled-Dive centres may advertise a cheaper program but our costs are all inclusive as course requirements.

You will certainly need all your own approved personal dive equipment, which if you prefer you can purchase on No deposit 12 months interest free options.

Specialty of the month               Boat Handler

Boat Handler

Owning a boat is everyone's dream, whether it be a small runabout or a large cabin cruiser. Being able to operate that vessel safely is another skill that you should master.

Many people venture into buying or building a boat without thinking about the fundamentals of good boating.

Operating a boat safely requires skill and training. Simply keeping your vessel on course involves a lot of knowledge, not only how the boat is affected by wind and current, but also how to come alongside a dock or wharf at the end of your journey.

Loading and unloading can also be quite hazardous, if not done correctly. This knowledge is essential for the safety of all passengers aboard.

During you Boat handling program you will complete three theory sessions and two hands on boating sessions over two days.

You will learn the fundamentals about boating, what to do and more importantly, what not to do!

You will also have time to go over all safety equipment that must be carried by all small vessels.

Simple and easy methods for launching and retrieving a boat, tying up alongside and navigating within a narrow channel. Recognising hazards and understanding signage around you that is designed to protect you and other waterway users.

You will also learn how to splice ropes and tie knots, you will also receive a handbook and the information you need to sit for your own Powerboat Licence with the relevant authorities.

Boating is fun,

lets make sure its safe!
Course commences 10 am, Monday February 16th.
