HMAS Adelaide update
The Ex HMAS Adelaide is well on its way to becoming a scuttled artificial reef. A date for the event is now a reality so mark your calendars to Saturday, 27th of March. This is the official date set but, still up in the air as far as weather is concerned.
I am praying for a great weather window because bad weather could hold us off for a few months!
Not what we want at this point in time.
The vessel is around 75% to 80% complete. Huge holes have been chased into the hull for divers. The engine room has been cleaned, all major machinery has been completely stripped and wiped clean, the lead ballast has been removed and most bilge waters have been pumped out.
This only leaves tidy up work and general safety items to finish off with.
This what you are waiting for, the holes to be finished are clearly visible
Can you wait till March!!!

PADI Advanced Diver Course
Exploration, Excitement, Experiences
This is what the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course is all about-
No, you don’t have to be “advanced” to take it – this course is designed so you can go straight into it after the PADI Open Water Diver course.
This course builds on what you have learnt and develops new capabilities by introducing you to new activities and new ways to have fun scuba diving.
You will hone your skills by completing five adventure dives that introduce you to activities like underwater navigation, drift diving and deeper diving techniques typically anywhere from 18-30 metres.
The Fun Part: Your Choice
One reason you will love the Advanced Open Water Diver course is that you and your instructor choose from fifteen types of Adventure dives to complete your course. You can try your hand at digital underwater photography, wreck diving, night diving, peak performance buoyancy, drift diving, marine awareness and much more.
We have chosen drift diving, underwater naturalist, peak performance buoyancy and night diving- combine these with underwater navigation and deep diving and you possess the knowledge to dive all the locations we offer.
Get credit!
Each Adventure Dive in the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course may be credited towards the first dive of the corresponding PADI Specialty Diver course.
What You Learn
The knowledge and skills you learn, vary with your interest and the dive adventures you have but will include;
Practical aspects of deep diving
Physiological effects of deeper scuba diving.
More ways to use your underwater compass
How to navigate using kick-cycles, visual landmarks and time
How to better use your dive computer and electronic Recreational Dive Planner TM (eRDPTM)
The finer skills of diving at night
diving in a current
And more, depending upon the Adventure dives you choose
The Scuba Gear You Use
You use all the basic scuba gear including your underwater compass. Depending upon which three adventure dives you pick, you may also try out underwater photography-, a dive light on your night dive, lift bags, in the Search and recovery dive or other specialty gear.
The Learning Materials You Need
PADI’s Adventures in Diving Manual provides information on more than 16 types of specialty diving-
You will use them as a guidebook to improve your diving skills and prepare for new experiences and adventures.
Curious about night diving?
Flip to the night diving chapter. Once you have previewed the skills, your instructor will guide you on your first night diving adventure.
Having trouble with underwater navigation?
Review the underwater navigation section then sign up for the Navigation Adventure Dive with your PADI Instructor.
