To insure visibility in dark locations, the gauge dials use pigments which make them visible in the dark. These pigments come in two types: luminous pigment and light-storage pigment. Luminous pigments glow continuously because of the radioactive material they contain. However, radioactive materials (however small in amount), are strictly controlled for production and disposal, which limits their practical use. Light storage pigments, on the other hand, contain no radioactive materials, but are impractical due to their short luminescence times. The solution is Lumi-Nova: a light storage pigment that can glow for an entire night. This depth gauge uses an extremely precise low-pressure C-type bourdon tube system to provide the diver with always accurate water depth. The gauge has an adjuster to change the 0m point of the water depth indicator needle, thereby giving the diver the ability to respond to zero point fluctuations caused by changes in pressure, height, temperature, and other factors. Our compass delivers superior pressure and shock resistance, with an oil-filled needle for accurate north indication. The compass needle is made with an alnico magnet for an extremely strong magnetic reaction.
