Underwater Navigator

QTY:

Underwater Navigator

Some divers have the knack of swimming all over the dive site, changing direction at will and always arriving back at their starting point.

Compasses are a necessary part of diving equipment and using them correctly is a very big achievement in your diving education.

The Fun Part

Uncanny as it may seem, divers learn the art of underwater navigation, just as you can in only a few training dives.

Returning to a dive site at the exact point of entry saves long surface swims, increases your underwater enjoyment, and ensures your dive is safer and more enjoyable.

What You Learn

Learning to use a compass and a Scuba Sextant will ensure you never get lost. If you happen to wander off during your dive, you can be assured you will be able to find your way back to your starting point with a minimum of fuss.

Using the techniques shown to you during this course, you will arrive back at your start point, at any time you wish during your dive.

The Scuba Gear You Use

You use all the basic scuba gear, plus an underwater compass and scuba sextant, dive float, line or other specialty gear.

The Learning Materials You Need

Being able to navigate underwater is a convenient and fun way to explore the underwater world.

By reviewing the PADI Manual and DVD, you will learn the important do’s and don’ts of Underwater Navigation including: course terminology, etiquette, safety and procedures.

Prerequisites

Must be a PADI Open Water Diver or Junior Open Water Diver.

Your Next Adventure

Just about any PADI specialty course can be taken in conjunction with the Underwater Navigation course, especially useful when completing the Deep Diver and Night Diver specialty course which can help you reach the coveted Master Scuba diver rating.
